Makeup and Hair Haul: Superdrug and Boots.

Today I was out for a bit, and I went to Superdrug and Boots and picked up just a few small items :)

The first place I went was Boots, I was originally looking for the VO5 Sea Salt/Surf spray that I've heard about on Youtube, Blogs and recently in CosmeticCharlotte72's hair tutorial on Youtube (go check out her channel-she's one of my absolute favourites!!) So she used it in this tutorial, and I decided to try and find some of it to try out as I'm also on the look out for products to achieve that perfect, semi-wavy, beachy, full-of-volume look. Unfortunately for such a volume-lover as me, I've poker-straight hair..daym :( but it never looks like that anymore, as I put so much product in it ;) probably not the best thing for it! Ah well! :P
But I couldn't find that exact one in there :( so I picked up this instead, thinking of it as an alternative:

It's called VO5 Give Me Texture. It's supposedly adds texture to your hair..the clue's in the name ya see! ;) It comes out in a mist and it is obviously a spray bottle.

This, though it's not got the sea salt/surf spray aspect, still claims to enhance your waves, so I thought I'd give it a try!

I can't completely remember the price of this, and it's seemingly not on the Boots website AND I have no idea where the reciept is..but I would say it was around £4-£5. Not expensive at all! :D I've tried it out and I realllly like it, it adds some volume and it makes your hair softer.

I also picked up this with one of the No7 £5 vouchers that I had :)

I've been wanting to try the No7 brushes for a while now, so I picked this one up as my first one! It's a dupe for a MAC 219 or the 'pencil brush' which small and great for adding intensity.

As you can see this brush is labelled as the 'Smokey Eyeliner Brush'. I've used it a once today, just to try it out when I got home from Boots..and I really like it!! It's soo affordable at only £7.25 PLUS with the £5 off voucher, it's only £2.25! The best deal everrrrrrr! :D
As you can tell the bristles are very tightly, densely packed. I was surprised by how hard it was at first, but it's not hard in a bad way, it's the denseness, and I LOVE that about it!! :D It is perfect for smudging liner/colours on the upper or lower lashlines and for adding colour to the outer corner or for a more intense look: to the crease too.

I'm really happy with both of my purchases from Boots..and then, when I paid, I got another of these babies!:

So that made me even happier <3!

In Superdrug I was looking for a paler foundation, as every other single colour on the planet (ok, maybe not that much!!;)) is too dark! ;P. I have been wanting to try out Revlon's Colourstay Foundation for a while now, and this was the perfect excuse! I found it in suchaa light colour that really matches meee so I'm really happy! I haven't tried it out yet, but I am really excited to tomorrow!! :)

It retails at £12.49..which is probably the priciest drugstore foundation I've come across- but from what I've heard it's worth it, I'm really hoping it is!!

I'm disappointed that it doesnt have a pump :( I'd hope for the high price they could provide a pump tbh but oh well!

My shade is 110 Ivory and I'm pretty sure it was the lgihtest shade that Revlon had-definitely in my local!

And then..what should I come across for a tiny £3-something!?

YEP! The exact thing I'd been looking for in Boots and failed to find! So now I've got two different sprays, a combination of both of them leaves my soft, wavy and volumized. Great! :)

Overall I'm SOOO impressed with this product, DEFINITELY got and pick one up for yourselves!!! :)

NOTD: Sunshine Yellow.

I've got to say I love this yellow colour nail polish, even though I know some people think it's a bit of an odd nail colour to wear! However I wanna try something like Lemon Ice-Cream Nail Paint by Barry M because this one is a little thick.

It's an Accessorize Nail Polish in Sunny Days. I got it actually in the Accessorize store, but you can also get it in Superdrug. As you can see, the colour is really lovely and the pigmentation is great-it only needs one coat. But the only thing is that it looks quite thick around the cuticles, and you can't peel that off without ruining/chipping your nails sadly. :(

The nail polish retails at £4.00 if I remember correctly! The packaging is really sturdy and the gold lid makes it a bit prettier too. This will last for aggggges because of the thickness of it, and the lack of need to layer coat over coat because it's pigmented enough with one single coat, as I said before.
Overall I do really like the polish and I think for the price you really can't go wrong, it's soo cheap! :O it's not my favourite ever formula though, I have to admit.

Have you tried any of the Accessorize polishes?! Are they all like this?! Are there any colours I should try out?!

Thanks for reading!! :)

Dupe: W7 Double Act for Benefit's Perfect 10.

I always find it helpful when people tell me about dupes for expensive makeup items. Benefit's Box Powder in Perfect 10 is quite an unusual product; it consists of a bronzer and a light pink highlighting/blush colour. It retails at a rather startling £23.50! The WV alternative/dupe is called Double Act and retails at different prices, depending on where you buy it. There are a few discount makeup websites that stock it such as faithcosmetics and shop4makeup. It's also avaliable on Ebay and Amazon. I have seen some W7 in New Look stores before too and occasionally in NEXT Clearance. Now for the review! :

The packaging is sturdy but not as good/durable as the Benefit box.

You get a little applicator brush with it, just like you do with the Benefit Box Powders.

The bronzer side is very shimmering and the pink is matte.

The bronzer, as I said, is very shimmering, but looks lovely on the cheeks. The highlighting/blusher pink is quite powdery but nicely pigmented.

The bronzer is incredibly pigmented and the pink is also a really nice colour.

Overall I really like this product. I don't own the Benefit original but from swatches at a Benefit counter, I can say that the bronzer in Perfect 10 is a lot less shimmering has little, if ANY glitter in it, unlike this dupe. The pink in Perfect 10 is also more pigmented and a lot less powdery. Benefit actually say that the bronzer is to be used as a 'contour' so the W7 alternative really doesn't work for that purpose as it's waaay to shimmering to use as a good contour powder, however it makes for a nice, regular bronzer.

Have you tried Benefit's Perfect 10? Is it worth me picking up?
Thanks for reading! :)

Elle's 15 Questions Tag-Blogger Style!

I'm sure you all know Elle or Allthatglitters21 from Youtube, well she made her own 'Tag' for people to do videos on, but I'm gonna do a Blog Post on it instead! Here goes :)...

1. What do you think you can do but you can't?
A: When I was first thinking about this question, I asked one of my friends what she thought and said 'be cool'..I decided not to go with that answer-who knows why?!-I guess I think I can do pretay good accents..the only ones half decent are English (pretty simple for an English girl :P) American and Australian..me and a friend always do crazy accents that belong to some other planet but think they're Scottish or Irish..oh dear. ;)
2. What's a difficult word for you to pronounce?
A: I was really stuck on this question-I'm pretty good with voncabulary and all that jazz cos of my writing..but then as I read the question over in my head..I realised 'pronounce' is something that I don't find hard nessecarily..but I do say it differently..sometimes I'll say 'pronounce' and sometimes I'll say 'prenounce'..that might just be me :L
3. What is a favourite TV show from your childhood?
A: 3 main ones stick out now..Tracy Beaker-how can you not LOVE that show?! My Parents Are Aliens was another absolute favourite but the best of all time?! The Sarah Jane Adventures <3 <3 <3.
4. What are your virtues and vices?
A: My virtues are probably..I'm very loyal to my friends and family and I'm a good reference for what words mean or how they're spelt (uh-huh ;)) that leads me onto my vice..I always, ALWAYS correct people's spelling or grammar on texts/bbm conversations etc and if they pronounce something wrong I correct them then too..need to stop doing that! whoops :S
5. What's more important-love, fame, power or money?
A: honestly, I think everyone, including me, would pick love. I can't imagine the type of person who would choose fame, power or money over love..the most important things in my life, are my friends and family..I love my friends and my family. Therefore: love is most important. If I had to pick a second place- Ofc, money buys makeup ;)
6. If you could live in an era/time period when would it be and why?
A: Honestly? I find most historical periods kinda scary..:S but I'd lvoe to live in the time of Grease..the 50s is that?! I have no idea, but I'd love to just be in Grease..or Hairspray! Looks like soo much fun! :D
7. If you had to redo your wardrobe with 2 entire stores, what would it be and why?
A: that's toughhh..if I was on a budget (!) H&M and Topshop..if I wasn't it'd be Topshop and Hollister <3.
8. Can you recall what you were doing a year ago today?
A: I really really can't! Sorry! :L
9: Do you have reocurring dreams-if so, explain?
A: I always used to dream that I got stuck in a dolls house with my cousin, mum and sister..and we couldnt get out and I would always get lost..haven't had that one or any other reocurring dreams in a while though..!
10. What's your horoscope?
A: I'm an Aries-27th of March :)
11. What does your dream bedroom look like?
A: Like Elle and Blair's current LA rooms and their 1st LA bedrooms too..so nice! <3 (Elle-Allthatglitters21 on Youtube and Blair-Juicystar07 on Youtube.)
12. What position do you sleep in?
A: urrrm..idk really..I move a lot when I'm sleeping! :L
13.Who is your favourite vampire of all time?
A: there is a part of me that will ALWAYS love Edward Cullen the most-he was basically the original..but I love Erik Knight from the House of Night series..and then there's Vampire Diaries..so much love for Stefan..but Ian Somerhalder as Damon is probably my favourite vampire of all time. <3
14. What are you currently wearing on your feet?
A: Bright pink socks with sheep on :D
15. Do you have neat handwriting? Show us!
A: ah. this is where my blog theory fails...

NOT! No..my handwriting is terrible..like atrociously bad..

Review-Bronzer-Eyeko Tinted Cream.

'Ello again :) on a SERIOUUUUS blogging spreee today it seems, making the most of being in the mood! :D
This is the first item from Eyeko I've tried. Their Tinted Cream is a bit of a genius idea I think. It's basically a 'cream' bronzer, although I would say it's slightly thinner/more oily than a cream bronzer, more along the lines of a gel to cream formula, just in my opinion. It's that perfect product for summer: you've got your cream blush sorted, tinted moisturizer, cream shadows, lip stain..but you've got a heavier powder bronzer that's heavy for the summer heat...well this is PERFECCCCT! It's so light to wear, really cool and refreshing and easy to apply, although it looks pretaaay scary at first. I'm the palest of pale, and I genuinely mean that! Some people I see/read saying 'I'm only NW20-so pale' etc etc, things like that..WELL I can just about get away with NW15, if it's summer and I'm fake tanning that is!! :'( but this even works for me, so it's a universal product, although for those of you with that really dark skin, it might work better as a highlighter than a bronzer. Some people who are more tanned have said they mix it in with their foundation a little in summer or put it all over their faces..I would look like I needed to be working in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory..say noo more..:S

So..yup..it looks incredibly dark on my white as snow hand, but I promise it DOESS blend out to be soo wearable and pretty, leaving a gorgeous golden shimmer to the skin.

Now I bought mine a little while back, not too long ago, but when I went to check the price on the Eyeko website, it wasn't on there..that I could see..I may have overlooked it, but I honestly didn't see it on there so I'm thinking that might mean they don't do it anymore?! :( I know that the last time I was in TK-Maxx I saw about 3 of these, all wrapped up properly in the box though, so that mayyy be a good place to look! Eyeko's 'Extra Glow Cream' is in the same container, just a product for different use, and that retails at £8.95, I can't imagine I paid much more or less than that for the Tinted Cream either, although at a discounted store like TKM, it would probably be around £5 I'd imagine. :) bonus!

Eyeko has a great website that is easy to use, definitely go check it out and look at some of their other products, it's all very affordable. (Some bigger Superdrug stores stock Eyeko too!) Eyeko has (AMAZINGLY!) delivery to everyone in the UK and Europe and if you're outside of Europe, and spend over $55 you can also get free shipping! If you spend under that amount, shipping is $7.50, not bad at all!

*All delivery costs information from Eyeko website!*
*I'm not affiliated with Eyeko-they don't even know I'm writing this! I bought it with my own money!*

I added those two mini disclaimers because I realise I don't usually talk about the brand, but in this case I thought I would to explain a bit more-hope you enjoyed :)

Review-Eyeshadow-ELF Brightening Eye Colours.

A lil review for yaaa :) these eyeshadows have had mixed reviews, some people say they love them and they're really pigmented, others say they're powdery and have lots of fall-down.

I have 2 myself, one with a shimmering finish and one with a matte finish. I've got to admit, the matte one: not so impressive, but the one with the pearl finish is pretty good.

(From left to right-Teal Dream (shimmery) Matte Mauve (clue's in the name-matte finish).

Teal Dream has 4 lovely, shimmering colours in it; a pearly white, a light grey-beige        and a bright blue with gold shimmer and a mid-toned green with slight gold shimmer. (who knows what's going on with the placing of the world 'beige'..sorry!)

As you may be able to see, the white and the blue are slightly more powdery than the others, but the blue and green have excellent pigmentation whilst the white can be a little too powdery to use all over the lid. My favourite shade is the beige-grey that doesn't look paticularllyyyy nice on camera/in swatches, but I LOVE it over the top of my MAC Paint-Pot in Bare Study for an everyday eye look with some gel liner and mascara. For £1.50 you realllllly can't go wrong with this paticular colour/palette choice though!
Overall Ratings:
Price: 10/10 £1.50..you can't get any 4 eyeshadows for that price from any drugstore brand. Great, great deal.
Pigmentation: 7/10-as I said above, some are great, some not so much. They need to find a happy medium: making all of the shadows great, not just some great and some bad.
Ovearll: 8/10-It would be a 7, had the grey-beige colour not been in the quad. I know that 'grey-beige' as a colour description is hardly making you leap onto the ELF website and order this quad straight away, but it's really worth a try. The blue had green are great univeral colours and would work on any skin-tone, the two lighter shades might not work on the darker/more tanned skin though.

Matte Mauve has 4 matte shades: a very light baby pink, a light beige, a burgandy-purple/brown and a slightly darker (only a bit darker than the previous baby pink-not dark in general!) candyfloss pink.

This quad..eh...not so good, I've gotta say. Now I love ELF, and honestly I haven't had a problem with their 'bad swatching quality' on their website either, but this had me a little disappointed. The burgandy/purple shade as you can see, is pigmented and a wonderful colour-not hugely wearable, but you can see that when you're buying the product (my own fault-not ELF's!!). The slightly darker pink colour is barely visible in this swatch, and honestly, the picture isn't 'letting down the product' it's a pretty fair representation actually! The lightest pink is fairly pigmented for a light shade, but is realllllly powdery, just like the white in Teal Dream. The light brown/beige shade is nice, and could be a great brow shade for those with light brown/ashy blonde hair/brows if it wasn't soo powdery yet again!
Overall Rating:
Price: 10/10 for the actual price again, I know the quality isnt as good as the other quad, so surely this rating should be lower?! No. Because the price is soo low (£1.50), you really can't expect much else, and if it was better? Just a great surprise, no expected.
Pigmentation: 2/10-that's my fully honest opinion, need to work on these matte shades ELF!
Overall: 5/10-So it's not a great overall review for this PATICULAR quad but I'm interested to try some more Brightening Eye Colours and see if the story is the same there. Are all of the matte shades worse than the shimmery ones?

Thanks for reading.

Makeup Haul: CCO-MAC.

I was in total heaven when I was in the CCO or Cosmetics Company Outlet today, and looking back, I wish I'd taken pictures of all of the amazing stock they had for those of you guys who haven't been to a CCO/CCS before. Oops! They basically stock the makeup brands: MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown and Clinique that I saw, though in different places/different outlets may stock other brands, I'm really not sure!! Their prices are really great, and everything there is discounted. Another great thing is that they do have some Limited Edition products, so you can find things (for example) from the MAC Back to the Beach or Venemous Villians collection, or just pick up some of the regular line eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. I only got 2 items, but I didn't want to just get random things, as they change their stock A LOT so I can get more different things next time! :)

MAC Blushcreme-Lady Blush and MAC Cremesheen Glass-Fashion Whim.

This MAC Cream Blush has been something I've wanted from there for a while now and when I saw it today I knew I had to get it, especially when it was discounted from £17.00 to £11.00! It may not seem like much of a discount, but for MAC, and for something that is still very popular as a regular line product, it's a great deal I think! In the pan on camera, it looks a little brighter than it is in person. It's a very pigmented, rose pink colour and it blends soooo easily, that even someone like me who works better with powder cheek products, can master using it pretty quickly. I'm so glad I bought this product, it's really, really nice!

Whilst I've had a couple of MAC cheek products before and I've tried the lipSTICKS, this was my first MAC lipglass/lipgloss. It's a cremesheen formula, so it's quite thick and, the name says it all, creamy, but it's still got a nice sheen/shine to it that I love. It cost £11.25 in comparison to it's original retail price of £16.00, I think that's a good deal too!! It's honestly the softest lipgloss I've ever worn and it's completely non-sticky and almost feels as mouisturizing as a lipbalm, which is such a plus. The colour is described by MAC on their website as a 'light beige' but I would say it's a light peachy-nude, it's definitely got too much of a pink/peach colour in it to be described as 'beige' but it's not too bright, totally wearable and that perfect nude lipgloss. I can't wait to try it over MAC's Hue Lipstick too! <3.

Overall, my trip to the CCO was a total success. If you have a local outlet that has a CCO within it, definitely go, or one that's a little while away, make the trek, it's worth it! Plus the Outlet I went to had some other great shops in it too!
The CCO doesn't just stock makeup; they have a great range of perfumes, skincare products and more, coming from other brands than just the ones mentioned up above.

Review-Bronzer-MeMeMe Shimmy Shimmers.

This product by MeMeMe, who've I spoken about a few times before, and it's a copy of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, but whilst that is gonna set you back a whopping £30.50, the Me-Me-Me copy is only £7.25 and avaliable from Superdrug. The one that I have is called 'Bronze Shimmer' and I know that they do a Pink version and a Gold version and perhaps more too that I haven't seen.

The colours are very shimmery and pigmented and personally for someone as pale as me, they look a little too dark on my pale skin and kind of muddy. However, the pearly white colour is a really great, bright highlight colour either for the inner-corner or your eye, browbone or cheekbones.
Overall Ratings:
Price: 8/10-compared to the Bobbi Brown equilvalent this price is AMAZINGGGG! But it doesn't get a 9 or 10 mainly just because of the darkness of the colours.
Pigmentation: 10/10-the colours are a sort of pearl formula and have a great shimmer/sheen to them, they're soo pigmented and could be used as eyeshadows if they're too dark for your cheeks, just like me!!
Overall: 8/10-As I've already said various times, the colours are too dark on me but the pigmentation and great price really make up for it. Hey, if you don't wanna splash out on the Urban Decay NAKED palette, you could even use these as your brown, gold and bronze shadows in the mean time! :P

Thanks for reading, have you tried the Me-Me-Me Shimmy Shimmers? Or the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick? Let me know!!! :)
