First NOTD and catchup!

First, I cannot believe almost a month has gone since my last blog post :O holidays and saying goodbye to friends (:'( ) has really distracted me from it lately, so sorry about that guys!! Anyways, I thought I'd start making these: 'Nail of the Day' posts from now on, to get the BEAUTY aspect back into my Blog which has been personal lately, which I love, but I want to get back the original reason for my Blog too! So here goes:

MUA Nail Polish-Shade 5.

This nail polish is, I'm pretty sure, only avaliable in Superdrug stores. It's only £1! It takes about 2 coats to get to that colour and I'm gonna be repurchasing it soon, as it's running low, the good thing is though, the bottle of polish lasts a long time, I've had mine for a while now!!
Hope you enjoyed. Lots of love..

Advice For-Eating Disorders.

I feel a little bit out of my depth here and therefore this post won't be full of the world's statistics, because I don't think anorexic people are looking for that, they need support, advice or help. When people here the term anorexic or bulimic, they automatically think, she thinks she's fat, she starves herself or binge eats. But that's part of the problem.
Some girls who are anorexic or bulimic do do it because they feel fat when they're actually incredibly thin and getting thinner all the time. But that's not the only reason. I've never personally had or dealt with an eating disorder, but I know girls who have. A lot of the time, they may just want to feel in control of something if the rest of their life is spiralling out of control. Perhaps a death, their parents splitting up or school-related stresses. The most important thing, no matter what the cause, is making people feel better.
Another important factor is that it IS NOT only girls or only teenagers who suffer from eating disorders, guys and people over 20 CAN suffer from them too! It's important to remember that!

I don't know whether this technically counts as advice or whether it's the same things you hear from everybody, but, in my personal opinion, if you have an eating disorder, it's one of the most serious mental and physical conditions out there. Control and discipline are major elements and whilst I won't bombard you with facts and figures about eating disorders, I will say this: please, please tell someone. You can't win as big of a battle as this one on your own. Because you may think, through cutting all of this food out you have great self control and strength, but you're actually in one of the most weak and vunerable places you could possibly be in. If you don't feel like you can trust anyone right now, and often people suffering from eating disorders feel as though the WHOLE world is against them, please send me an email and I would happy to give you some more personal advice that is tailored to your own situation.
If you can't talk to anyone, if you can't eat, if you cant stop binge eating and then getting rid of that food later (nicest way possible to describe it!) then just think about the people around you. Whether you can trust them or not..just think. Your friends, family, people you love, people you look up to, either they're none the wiser and are going to completely beside themselves when you get rushed to hospital or collapse or they know or have noticed and are really scared and worried too.
It may seem as if you're completely in the dark and completely alone, but there are people there for you, including me, and I will not tell anyone or repeat any information. It might even make you feel slightly safer/better telling me, because I have no access to your parents or friends, so I would never be able nor would I ever tell them.

Please stay safe and well.

Advice For-Friendships.

heeyya,

One of those things that you always assume you can rely on is that your friends will always be there for you, and when they're not, sometimes you just honestly cannot understand why. Whether it's someone you thought you could trust going behind your back, or hearing something a friend has said about you that wasn't meant to get back to you, that has happened to everybody once before, and if people say it hasn't..it's most likely that they're the people saying or doing those things!
If I've learnt one thing, through personal experience, it's that it's very easy to rely on someone, but very hard to totally trust them, especially if you've had bad experiences with friends in the past. But not every friend you make is going to let you down, in fact, the majority of them won't. The most important thing to do, isn't to completely lay your heart on the line for friends, or to trust nobody and talk to nobody about anything important, but to find a happy medium. Decide for yourself you can trust, and if you get it wrong, well hey, you're only human.
Although people talk about broken hearts hurting most of all, I'd be inclined to say that losing a friend might have just as big of an effect, perhaps a bigger one, on a person.
Another important point is: never treat someone in a way in which you wouldn't want to be treated; meaning, if you talk about someone behind their back, don't be angry if they do it back, because, after all, you've done it too. Everybody has a right to say whatever they like, but don't have double standards, cos that will come back to bite you. Majorly. On top of all of this, you have to remember that things will change and people will change too, in fact, anything when it's given time, changes. And there's no way to stop it. Everything happens for a reason, some things suck and you wonder why, but in the end you will get something positive out of it, even if you don't realise that's why the good thing happened.
I'll leave you guys with a final quote: True friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.

Q and As-PART2.

Helllooo:).

1.) What makeup do you wear in summer, when it's really hot?
A- We're lucky to get hot weather in the UK, but on holiday I always take a foundation/tinted moisturiser just in case I want it for evenings but usually just take a bronzer, blush, cream eyeshadow, kohl pencil, waterproof mascara and some lipglosses!
2.) What's the best way to deal with bullies?
A- I'm fortunate enough not to have experience with this kind of thing, but, to those who are being bullied currently or have been, just remember, it's the bully you should feel sorry for. Although what they're doing is horrible, imagine how bad they must feel about themselves to make another person feel terrible. Eleanor Roosevelt once said 'nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent' or something along those lines at least! :P stay strong and believe in yourself.
3.) Who are you style (fashion-wise) icons?
A- I love Lauren Conrad's style but I also love all of the girls'  from the Saturdays' style and the way they mix highstreet with higher-end. Also Sienna Miller always looks amazing, especially for someone a little bit older than the previously mentioned girls :)
4.) Who are your style (makeup wise) icons?
A- Again I love Lauren Conrad's signature cat eye winged liner and bronzed California look. I always love the more outrageous makeup sported by Rihanna and Katy Perry.
5.) What is your favourite makeup brand?
A- I've always been a drugstore makeup girl at heart, and LOVE Collection 2000, Rimmel, Maybelline, L'Oreal and the rest...but lately I've been using a lot more MAC and Benefit, and unfortunately I suppose, joined the band wagon of absolutely loving the more expensive makeup!:L
6.) What's your favourite fashion piece at the moment?
A- There's quite a few! I love my chinos and the good old Jack Wills/Hollister trackies, but recently I bought two new Peter Pan collar shirts, one from River Island and my favourite one bought today from Topshop! :)

Anymore questions? send them to me :)xxx

Q and As-PART1.

So I literally just wrote a catchup post and figured I may as well start my question and answers with a few that some girls sent me during my little revision break from my bloggg :)

1.) what's your favourite mascara?
A: My favourite mascara of all time is the Maybelline New York Collosal Volume Express, but be sure to get the 100% Black version as it's much better!
2.) what's the best way to take off your eye-makeup?
A: My personal preference is to use a makeup remover, I like the SImple Kind to Eyes eye makeup remover, but you can just use a face wipe or wet cotton pad if you don't want to spend money on it!
3.) best discount shop?
A: If you're in the UK, I think we're pretty blessed with a cheap highstreet! Obviously if you want reaaaal value, go to Primark but also places like River Island and Topshop are amazing quality of course!
4.) what is the biggest trend you're seeing for S/S 2011?
A: I would say the boho theme. Think maxi dresses, headbands and feather hair extensions! But also very preppy style is back in: Chinos, Peter Pan collars and messanger bags!
5.)What is the best fashion magazine you've come across?
A: I personally LOVE to read LOOK magazine, it's the right balance of celebrity/fashion! But if you're into high high end fashion, go for ELLE or VOGUE and if you're just in between?! Grazia should be perfect!
6.) Favourite Nail Polish for summer?
A: Barry M Peach Melba or Accessorize Sunny Days!
7.) GG-Blair or Serena? Chuck or Nate? Jenny or Dan? Vanessa or Eric? Georgina or Carter..and why!?
A: HARDEST QUESTIONS EVER! GG-Blair, Chuck, Dan, Eric, Carter..Blair because she's hilarious and gorgeous and I literally wish I was her!! Chuck because..well he's CHUCK BASS<3 Dan because he's soo funny and gorgeous, Eric because he's really sweet, Carter because he's a real twist to the storylines whenever he comes into an episode and Georgina is never usually being nice to people!!

that's all for now, send anymore questions! :)

Advice For-Confidence.

Hey guys,

This is a bit of a different blog post today. I got an email from a girl who reads my blog, but doesn't have one herself and doesn't want people to know her name or anything like that, so I'll respect that. She asked me if I could do a blog post in my advice section on how to remain confident when things are getting you down. I was quite touched by her email and some of the things that she said. She's a really lovely girl but it's sad that she feels so unconfident. She's 11 years old and found that moving to senior school really shook her. She got into an independent school and the rest of her friends went to a completely different school, all together and she feels quite left out. My advice for this kind of situation is a very personal kind. I went through the exact same thing when I left junior school and I found it hard to adjust. I know that everyone says it, but joining clubs or extra curricular activities really can help.

1-Joining In: Even though the thought of joining a new club where everyone may already be friends or more confident than you is daunting, I found that joining at least one club during my first month at senior school helped me to get to know people and become more confident, if only a tiny bit more!

2-Find an outlet: Whenever things get tough, inside or outside of school, or whenever you're feeling down or worried or nervous, try and find an outlet for those feelings. My outlet has always been my writing, and I found that making my characters happy, made me feel better or making them sad and then letting them get through the tough times, helped me to realise that there was always a chance that things will get better. Whatever you most enjoy doing, dancing, drawing, playing sport or even something as simple as playing computer games, make it so that you can vent when you're doing that and then you should find that you'll forget about whatever's going on for a little while at least.

3-Think Positively: I know it sounds really obvious that thinking postively will make you feel happier, but that's not always the case, and some people, like me, have to work really hard at thinking of something that can make your mood lift considerably. Perhaps think of your family, or friends or pet or your favourite film, or book or TV show...create a little box in your mind to open that is filled with happy times, memories and smiles so that you won't ever HAVE to feel sad even if things are not going too well.

I hope this kind of helps some of you, especially the girl who emailed me.
